Server Mods

Most of the mods below will require v0.94 and newer installs of Funeral Quest.

Updates

April 15th, 2003: I uploaded v1.3 of the Key Hearse. The changes include less news spam (it won't add any news items when the person isn't caught), different probabilities of getting caught, and a new item at Di-Mart that increases your chance of not getting scratched.

April 10th, 2003: Apparently, the Casino mod likes to crash servers, so keep that in mind if you plan on installing it.

March 28th, 2003: I uploaded v0.5 of my Casino modification.  It adds a new building to the map, a Casino.

January 24th, 2003: I uploaded v1.2 of the Key Hearse event.  Turns out I was referencing a procedure that was no longer there.  Thanks Deathstalker.

January 23rd, 2003: I uploaded v1.1 of the Key Hearse event.  It fixes a few bugs (yellow text in the news, and more).  I actually fixed these bugs a week ago, and I simply uploaded the old script.  Thanks to Deathstalker for uploading it to his server, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed.

I also uploaded v1.1 of the Magic Seeing Stone.  It can now displays their luck, BP that day, Strength, Health Points, and Psych Level.  However, now there is a 50% chance of displaying each of the stats, so you'll never know if it will find what you want.

Right now I'm trying to think of a way to utilize the Church... but I haven't thought of anything interesting that fits in with the 'theme' of FQ yet.

Scripts

Key Hearse v1.3 by Dan Walma

The Key Hearse Event is a script event that allows you to key another player's hearse.  The chance of success is based on in-game luck.

If successful, the person you keyed will have to pay the equivalent of 1 gold tag.

If unsuccessful, you will have to pay the equivalent of 1 gold tag.

If the person who has to pay doesn't have the equivalent of a gold tag, there is a billing error and they get off scot free.

Magic Seeing Stone v1.1 by Dan Walma

The Magic Seeing Stone is a new item available at Di-Mart, under Supplies.  The zip includes new Flash artwork I made.  I use the term artwork very, very, very generously.

It costs 3 gold, can only be used once, and must be used when you purchase it.  It will show you anyone's total burials, tag amounts, fire alarms, safes, lockpicks, padlocks, and padlock strength.

It can now displays their luck, BP that day, Strength, Health Points, and Psych Level.  However, now there is a 50% chance of displaying each of the stats, so you'll never know if it will find what you want.

New Events

Tal v1.0 by Dan Walma and Tim Thomas

In this risk, Tal (of Dink Network fame) needs some help disposing of some... um... mulch.  Yeah, that's it.

Tim Thomas used a photograph of Tal and used that to base the artwork on.

Pooch v1.0 by Dan Walma and Tim Thomas

In this risk, a stray dog comes up to your funeral parlor, and you have some human brains you need to dispose of... hrm...

Tim Thomas used a photograph of a dog and used that to base the artwork on.

WC v1.0 by Dan Walma and Tim Thomas

Just a simple special event.  WC (of Dink Network fame) threatens you with his wimpy knife, and you lose some BP/luck.

Timmy Thomas used a photograph of WC and used that to base the artwork on.

Casino v0.5 by Dan Walma

Warning: likes to crash the FQ Server

The Casino modification adds a new building to the main map: the Casino.  While there, you can use the Slot machines, which have a 50% chance of giving nothing, 22% of getting BP, 22% of getting luck, 5% of getting extra customers, and 1% of getting an extra customer visit.

You use Tags in the slot machines, and while the odds of winning are the same for all tags, the reward is better for the better tags.
